Antarctic Maritime Issue Tracker Phase 2
Like the Arctic, the Antarctic continent is not immune to the effects of climate change and a tug-of-war over access to land and resources. However, as the continent itself is populated only by research staff and tourists, the nuances of these issues differ immensely.

The second phase of the interactive ICAS Antarctic Tracker has been released, with a Marine Conservation Tracker being added to our first two interactive maps.

2021 ICAS Annual Conference: SUMMARY & VIDEO
ICAS held its 2021 Annual Conference on the morning of Thursday, December 9th with the assistance of its partners! The highlights of this hybrid-style event included a keynote dialogue and two discussion panels--one on 'Strategic Rivalry in the Biden Era' and another on 'Engagement on Trade, Tech and Climate'--between experts in their fields. NOVEMBER 8-9: Symposium on Global Maritime Cooperation and Ocean Governance 2021
Hosted by the China-Southeast Asia Research Center on the South China Sea (CSARC) together with the National Institute for South China Sea Studies (NISCSS), ICAS, and other partners, the SGMCOG was inaugurated in November 2020 when it brought together over 500 participants and audience members from different regions both online and offline. The 2021 GMCOG symposium continued to offer an international platform for thought-provoking dialogues and promote academic research and exchange on maritime cooperation and ocean governance. A detailed summary of Session 5: Ocean Governance Practices in the Arctic has been released.

Biden International Affairs Personnel Tracker
The team at ICAS has assembled the major U.S. international affairs policy positions in the Biden Administration, organized into four categories, and conducted research on their views on U.S.-China relations. With the final phase completed, the tracker now features 91 personnel from across the federal government, with the most vocal personnel continuing to receive a more engaging profile upgrade. All pages are periodically updated to maintain relevancy as circumstances allow.
