Jules Montañez is currently a senior at American University pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations with a concentration in East Asia and the Indo-Pacific and a minor in Mandarin Chinese. Their research interests focus on China-US relations, the South China Sea, the Taiwan Strait, and other foreign policy and national security areas. Last year, Jules studied abroad in China where they had the opportunity to conduct research, write analysis papers, and Mandarin Chinese to English translations.
