Max Cowan is a Part-Time Research Assistant Intern at the Institute for China-America Studies. He holds a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Global China Studies from New York University Shanghai where he explored a variety of research topics including the cultural impacts of Deng Xiaoping’s economic reforms, the first Opium War, and Global Chinese Diasporic Networks. In his free time, Max enjoys playing tennis, learning languages, and visual art.
