Biography

Zhangchen Wang is a Research Associate at the Institute for China-America Studies. His current research focuses on climate change, climate finance, industrial policy, and the cooperation and competition over clean energy and green technology. He leads the authorship of the Blue Carbon & Climate Change (BCCC) Quarterly newsletter and has written extensively on global climate governance, industrial green transition, and U.S.–China climate relations. Drawing from an industry-oriented perspective, his work seeks pragmatic solutions to climate challenges. He also examines the trade and financial dimensions of the U.S.–China relationship. He holds a Master’s degree in International Affairs from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Asian Studies from The George Washington University. He aims to connect analytical insight with policy relevance in advancing global climate and energy transitions. He is also interested in nuclear issues.
