6th U.S.-China Track II Dialogue on Maritime Affairs and International Law

Hosted by Institute for China-America Studies, the National Institute for South China Sea Studies, and the National Committee on United States - China Relations

From January 16-17 2018, the Institute for China-America Studies co-organized the 6th U.S.-China Track II Dialogue on Maritime Affairs and International Law in collaboration with the National Institute for South China Sea Studies and the National Committee on United States – China Relations, in Sanya, Hainan province, China.

The one-and-half day closed-door dialogue focused on the status quo of maritime affairs in the Asia Pacific, UNCLOS and recent developments in maritime law, and China-U.S. cooperation on military maritime security. The purpose of the dialogue was to provide an institutionalized platform that could facilitate better communication between the two countries on maritime issues in the Asia Pacific.
