U.S.-China L.E.A.D. Project
In May 2023, the team at the Institute for China-America Studies (ICAS) launched the U.S.-China Legislative and Executive Actions Directory (L.E.A.D.) Project to track and summarize trending critical issues and developments on China, emanating from both the White House and Capitol Hill.
ICAS will continue to update the L.E.A.D. Project with new summaries, analyses and collections of legislative and executive actions on China as time and circumstances allow. The goal of this project is to closely track the key issues and developments on China within the Beltway for scholars and policymakers, and thereby provide a framework for the better understanding of this critical and consequential bilateral relationship.
Explore each nominee or appointee to view their background, views on China and potential influence on the U.S.-China relationship as part of the Biden Administration.
Biden Administration International Affairs Personnel Tracker
With a change in presidency and majority control shifting to the Democratic Party, the United States is facing a major era of change that will invariably alter both domestic and foreign policymaking. The team at ICAS has assembled the major U.S. international affairs policy positions in the Biden Administration, organized into four categories.
The objective of the Tracker is to identify and understand the official positions of key players in the Biden Administration who will directly or indirectly impact the trajectory of the U.S.-China relationship in various sectors.
COVID-19 Focus
Given the expanding significance of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) around the world, ICAS has dedicated much of its recent research efforts to understanding and debating the impact of the coronavirus on US-China relations.
The Institute for China-America Studies is committed to providing timely, relevant and focused analyses and interactive maps on the coronavirus pandemic to grant policymakers and the general public a more comprehensive understanding of ongoing events, especially as they impact U.S.-China relations.
