Bharat Ramamurti
National Economic Council Deputy Director
Before joining the NEC, Bharat Ramamurti was Managing Director of the Corporate Power program at the Roosevelt Institute, which is a liberal think tank specializing in progressive economic and democratic leadership. He was also senior counsel for banking and economic policy in the office of Senator Elizabeth Warren and the top economic advisor in Warren’s 2020 presidential campaign.
For much of 2020, Ramamurti’s attention has been on understanding and balancing domestic coronavirus relief efforts. As of April 2020, Ramamurti was a key member of the Congressional Oversight Commission for the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) overseeing the investigation of whether or not Americans were benefiting from emergency stipends.
On China
