From July 26-27 2018, a delegation of scholars from the Institute for China-America Studies (ICAS) attended the 7th U.S.-China Track II Dialogue on Maritime Affairs and International Law in Provincetown, Massachusetts.
The two-day event is co-hosted by ICAS, the China based National Institute for South China Sea Studies (NISCSS) and the U.S. based National Committee on U.S.-China Relations (NCUSCR). The goal of these Track II dialogues is to provide an institutionalized platform for candid maritime policy communication between China and the United States. These closed-door sessions featured more than 30 experts and scholars from think tanks, research institutes, universities and government agencies from China and the United States, including Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Fudan University, Xiamen University, the Office of the Legal Advisor of the U.S. Department of State, the Center for Naval Analyses, the Naval War College, Yale University, Stanford University, New York University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Washington University.
