On December 9, 2017, Dr. Nong Hong met with a delegation of 21 fellows from Public Intellectuals Program (PIP), a program launched by the National Committee on United States-China Relations in 2005. PIP is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of China specialists who, in the tradition of earlier China hands, have the interest and potential to venture outside of academia to engage with the public and policy communities. Dr. Hong gave an introduction of the establishment and development of Institute for China-America Studies. The two sides also exchanged views on how to better facilitate communications between Chinese and American scholars.
