COVID-19 Focus

Given the expansive impact of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) around the world, ICAS dedicated much of its research efforts in 2020 and early 2021 to understanding and debating the impact of the coronavirus on US-China relations.

Introduction

The novel coronavirus (formally known as COVID-19 or SARS-CoV-2) is an infectious disease that, since the first case was exposed in Wuhan, China in December 2019, has exponentially grown into a pandemic impacting virtually every facet of society. Over the first few months of 2020, it has become evident that the impacts of this pandemic will be far-reaching and long-lasting.

The Institute for China-America Studies is committed to providing timely, relevant and focused analyses and interactive maps on the coronavirus pandemic to grant policymakers and the general public a more comprehensive understanding of ongoing events.
